Brock and I both grew up in Spencer. With him being 5 years older than me, we just missed each other in high school. We had both heard each other's names in passing or social circles, but didn't officially meet until New Year's Eve of 2021. We were both playing pool at a local bar and ended up on opposing teams, and could not stop making eye contact with one another. Brock actually went home and told his mom about me that night, and if you believe in love at first sight, that was pretty close to what we experienced. We matched on Tinder a month later and immediately clicked. Our first date was at the Okoboji Barn, and I was so nervous I asked Chandra (maid of honor) and her husband to double date, which of course just made things more awkward. Once we started getting to know each other more, we were inseparable every day until making our relationship official in June of 2022. During the beginning of our relationship, Brock had just gotten the space for his tattoo studio, Independent Art Co. We spent nearly every night there together working on projects and displays for the shop, and had our grand opening the following summer. We quickly realized that we complemented each other's strong suits in all the right places, with Brock being artistic and creative and me being the organizer keeping him on task. I had also never been to a single wrestling meet in my life prior to meeting Brock, and was surprised at how quickly I fell in love with the sport and watching him coach. From building a business, surviving a flood, and all the other things life has thrown our way in between, Brock and I have found strength in one another and continued to find ways to improve as individuals together. We are so excited to continue building this amazing life together, surrounded by our families and loved ones!
